Essential Applications: Securing Fire Barrier in Colorado's New VA Hospital

September 27.2021 | Essential Applications

The new Rocky Mountain Regional VA Hospital in Aurora, Colorado is being built with pneumatic trash and linen transport systems to move standard garbage and dirty linens like gowns, scrubs, and bedsheets from various areas of the hospital to the proper processing centers automatically. For safety, the transport systems are wrapped in fire barrier material.

The contractor installing the systems choose BAND-IT banding and buckles to secure the fire barrier. One of the advantages of BAND-IT was the ability to use one band type with two different types of buckles. Standard BAND-IT Band in 201 Stainless Steel was secured with Ear-Lokt buckles for permanent installation locations and removable Scru-Lokt buckles were used for areas where access was needed for future maintenance.

While this is a less common use of our bands, it shows that BAND-IT products really are Essentially Everywhere.
