BAND-IT Celebrates Veterans Day All Week Long
November 14.2022 | Corporate Social Responsibility
Veterans Day is normally celebrated on November 11th each year, but several BAND-IT employees who served in the Armed Forces took it to the next level with three days of events, activities, and dedications. The events kicked off Wednesday November 9th with a company luncheon at the Denver Headquarters for all employees, and each employee was asked to fill out a Thank-You card that would be delivered to the local VA hospital and given to the patients.
On Thursday November 10th, several of the BAND-IT employees who are also Veterans took the cards and a mountain of snacks and goodies to the new Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado, just a few miles from our Denver Headquarters. One of the team said of the experience "We met a gentleman who fought in the Korean War and Vietnam. He was turning 88 and a true war hero. It was heartwarming to see someone who served so long ago be given amazing medical care in this incredible facility.
The three days of events concluded with a flag dedication for a new 8'x12' United States Flag hanging in our production facility as a daily reminder of the sacrifices veterans made to serve our country, and the dedication that each one feels to the principles of our Republic. The entire BAND-IT team also joined the rest of the United States in observance of 2-minutes of silence at 12:11pm Mountain Time to reflect and honor all veterans.
